Recently we have received two large donations to the Prostate Buddies D&G charity funds, namely over £250 from Tesco Cuckoo Bridge store & £200 from The Dumfries Branch of Dingbro.
We are very grateful to Mrs Anne Croucher the Community Champion at Tesco Cuckoo Bridge, along with Greame Dalgliesh & Russell Grant of Dingbro Dumfries for their generous gifts.
This will go a long way to help us in our cause to help men recently diagnosed with Prostate Cancer to come to terms with their illness by providing moral and emotional support, when it is most needed.
We also run a perpetual campaign to raise ‘Prostate Awareness’ among men 50 years old or more as one in eight men is diagnosed with Prostate Cancer.
As a charity, we look forward to 2021 when our plans to visit several local events and shows where men congregate, initially arranged from 2020, will hopefully come to fruition and their financial assistance will make this all the easier.
Other recent local donations over the Autumn months have been received from Tarff Town & Country, Lockerbie Road Dumfries, Jim Brown Captain of the Dumfries & Galloway Golf Club, Mrs Lyndsey Wright of St John’s Town of Dalry Post Office, Nicola Kerr of NVK Nails Dumfries and our very own Buddy Robert Copeland for a collection made at his recent ploughing contest. Without these and the other donations we receive the charity would not be able to offer the support to men in Dumfries & Galloway who have recently been diagnosed with Prostate Disease or Prostate Cancer. A sincere thank you to all who have made a donation this year.
